About

Dan Chen is an Associate Director at Grant Thornton | Stax in the Chicago Office. Dan has significant consulting experience working with private equity clients across the investment lifecycle. In particular, he specializes in leading buy- and sell-side diligences, advising investors of all sizes.

While Dan has worked across diverse industries including Healthcare, Education, and Industrials, his expertise lies in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) vertical. Specifically, he focuses on enterprise and vertical software providers. 

Prior to joining Grant Thornton | Stax, Dan gained experience in strategy consulting at EY-Parthenon and held strategy and BizOps roles at several startup ventures.

​Dan holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Economics & Strategy from Washington University in St. Louis. 

Extracurricular

Dan enjoys discovering new restaurants in Chicago, but you can also find him spending as much time outside as possible—often exploring new nature preserves and dog parks with his Border Collie, Ollie (even during the winter months).
