About

Ruwindhu Peiris is a Managing Director at Stax and leads the digital & data analytics innovation excellence practice responsible for developing and visioning the Stax proprietary Analytics Edge Platform. He has sold and directly managed some of the largest digital transformation projects for global clients and owns delivering the US offices integrated work from the Colombo office. Ruwindhu is also the co-founder of Sri Lanka@100 a private sector led initiative for value creation of mid-sized firms in Sri Lanka.

In 2019, Ruwindhu was recognized as one of the top 100 business leaders in the Sri Lanka. He was also a past Chairman of The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM), the national chamber for the knowledge and innovation industry in Sri Lanka. During his tenure with SLASSCOM, Ruwindhu played a pivotal role in developing & positioning Sri Lanka as the Island of Ingenuity and represented the country at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London to launch the new country brand. Ruwindhu has been actively involved in the national export strategy development of Sri Lanka and has served on the national Innovation and IT steering committee appointed by the government. In recognition of the contributions made, he was invited by International Trade Centre (ITC) to assist in the development of the information technology sector export strategy of Myanmar in 2019.

Prior to joining Stax, he worked as the Vice President and the Head of Operations for Virtusa Corporation, a global information technology (IT) services company providing digital transformational change at scale and speed. In this role he was accountable for strategy execution via business planning, resource management, and overall operations optimization. During his ten years at Virtusa, Ruwindhu successfully implemented multiple complex solutions for Global 500 companies in the banking, financial services, insurance, and telecom industries, transforming their data and information into business-critical dashboards and decision tools.

Ruwindhu earned an M.B.A. from Edith Cowan University (Australia) and is an Electrical Engineering graduate from Queen’s University (Canada).
