About
Ruwindhu Peiris is a Managing Director at Grant Thornton Stax and heads the Colombo office, overseeing the seamless integration and delivery of work for the U.S. and U.K. offices through the Colombo-based client delivery network.
He is a well-respected and active member of the Sri Lanka business community. In 2019, Ruwindhu was recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s top 100 business leaders. A former chairman of The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM), the national chamber for the knowledge and innovation industry, he played a key role in positioning the country as the Island of Ingenuity and represented the country at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London for its launch. Ruwindhu has contributed to Sri Lanka’s national export strategy and served on the government’s Innovation and IT steering committee. In 2019, he was invited by International Trade Centre (ITC) to support Myanmar’s IT sector export strategy development.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton Stax, Ruwindhu served as Vice President and Head of Operations for Virtusa Corporation, a global IT services company. He was responsible for strategy execution, business planning, resource management, and overall operations optimization. During his 10 years at Virtusa, he implemented complex solutions for Global 500 companies in the banking, financial services, insurance, and telecom industries, transforming data into business-critical dashboards and decision-making tools.
Ruwindhu earned an M.B.A. from Edith Cowan University (Australia) and is an Electrical Engineering graduate from Queen’s University (Canada).

Ruwindhu is a family man that looks forward to enjoying his family’s lively dinnertime discussions. His perfect morning starts with an energizing swim followed by a herbal porridge.
