Our offices in Boston, Chicago, and New York teamed up with some amazing organizations to make a real and lasting impact on the lives of women and children in need. We've joined forces with Cradles to Crayons, Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC), Rosie's Place, and the Park Avenue Women's Shelter to help create over 300 shelter kits to help make a difference!
In our continuous effort to champion women in private equity, Stax worked alongside several women-led organizations in the industry: Kayo, Women in Private Equity, and Exponent Women's Network with seven of our senior leaders participating in events organized by these influential groups.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Stax hosted a global Lunch & Learn featuring Stax Associate Director Christine O’Connell, who shared her breast cancer journey with colleagues and spoke to the challenges of balancing work and life after her diagnosis.
Our Colombo office also honored Breast Cancer Awareness month by organizing their “Pink Week” initiative, encouraging our colleagues to wear pink as a symbol of solidarity and to help raise awareness around breast cancer.
Colleagues in Colombo turned their compassion into action— in support of women who have faced/experienced trauma, they held a donation drive to provide the essentials in the form of over 300 packages in the hopes that these resilient women can use these supplies to help rebuild their lives.
Our Colombo office organized awareness sessions focusing on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) for our female colleagues—including knowledge-sharing on menstrual health, STI testing, cervical cancer, breast cancer, pap smears, and mammograms.
Our amazing colleagues in Boston dedicated their time and energy to help Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit working to improve the lives of children in need. Our team rolled up their sleeves and worked hard, helping to sort, clean, and package a variety of children’s items.
In addition, our Boston office also showed their support for the great work done by the Make-a-Wish Foundation by attending their 40th annual local gala. The evening consisted of a cocktail reception, live and silent auctions, a raffle, and live music—a good time was had by all.
Over in Chicago, Staxers spent time volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House, a McDonalds-founded organization that provides both food and housing options for families who are traveling for a member of their family to receive medical care. While there, the team set up, cleaned, catered, and served meals to resident families.
Stax Colombo showed their support for Sarvodaya’s community kitchen program by providing 3,500+ meals to underprivileged children from a rural village in Sri Lanka.
In addition, our Colombo colleagues spent a few days reading stories, coloring, and singing with underprivileged children benefiting from the community kitchen program; topping the occasion off by gifting 34 packs containing stationary items, essential school supplies, and toys, bringing them much joy.
Stax Chicago was anything but “shy” during this year’s gift exchange where everyone in the office partook in sharing their White Elephant gifts. Impractical knickknacks weren’t the only thing being shared, as the evening was filled with plenty of friendship and laughs to go around.
Stax Colombo Social Events team was hard at work organizing a wide variety of quarterly “Shindig” evenings, where colleagues spent many relaxing and engaging evenings together, enjoying food and drinks as well as a variety of activities such as movie and quiz nights, and traditional New Year celebrations.
Our global DEI book club was a major success this year—in addition to hosting 86 participants, we also supported our local bookstores by sourcing our literature from 8 independent and minority-owned businesses in our local areas. Each book was unique, engaging, and revered by our entire group—so much so, we decided to make contributions to 11 charities that aligned with the themes presented in our stories.
In conjunction with our continuing support and promotion of literature, we partnered with Operation Paperback, an organization that supplies new and lightly used reading materials to both active and retired service members in the U.S. armed forces. Our offices, together, donated over 50+ books to the program.
Stax prides itself on being a workplace of varied and unique cultures, and, through our offices and social media platforms, we have promoted and celebrated a wide variety of holidays including...
To celebrate Diwali, we organized Diwali-themed celebrations in each of our global offices featuring delicious sweets and other cultural activities.
Our Colombo team enjoyed a pleasant “Sip and Paint,” where the goal was to relax, enjoy some drinks, and spend time with fellow colleagues in what was a rejuvenating experience for all.
Our Global offices hosted mental health panels, in partnership with Twello, to encourage colleagues to take time for themselves and promote discussions on the importance of mental health in the workplace. In addition, our Colombo office organized their own mindfulness sessions, consisting of meditation and breathwork sessions for all to enjoy.
